The disruption caused due to the pull out of Chinese staff by Foxconn Technology Group from India will be “temporary”, according to sources within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The disruption is likely to last a “month or so”, the persons privy to the matter told NDTV Profit on Thursday, a day after Foxconn’s pull-out of over 300 Chinese engineers from India was reported.

Foxconn, the key manufacturer of Apple’s flagship gadget iPhone, has a number of production facilities in southern India.

The MeitY sources, who spoke on the matter, said India has sufficient manpower, and no major problem is anticipated. They added that local machine manufacturing is picking up, which will help reduce dependency on imports over time.
