Mumbai Tops the List as the Costliest City to Dine Out in 2025

A recent global report has revealed that Mumbai has been ranked as the most expensive city for dining out in 2025. According to the report, a three-course meal for two people at a mid-range restaurant in Mumbai costs around $21 or Rs 1,800.

Delhi and Bengaluru Also Among the Costliest Places Globally

Aside from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru have also made it to the list of the top 100 costliest places to dine out in 2025. In Mumbai, a similar meal for two people costs $21, making it the 65th costliest city globally.

Comparing Dining Costs in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru

In Delhi, the cost of a three-course meal for two at a mid-range restaurant is $20 or Rs 1,700, while in Bengaluru, it can cost $18 or Rs 1,540. These findings were reported by Deutsche Bank, highlighting Mumbai as the most expensive Indian city for dining out.

According to the report, other cities topping the list include Zurich and Geneva, both situated in Switzerland, where the average cost of a three-course meal for two people is $147 (nearly Rs 12,600).

Global Ranking of City Dining Costs

Various cities like New York, Copenhagen, and Boston also featured in the top 10 list of costliest cities to dine out in 2025, with meal prices averaging at least $110 for two people. Tel Aviv from Israel secured the 8th rank, with a meal costing $112 (around Rs 9,500).

The data for this report was compiled from the ‘Mapping the World’s Prices’ report, created by Deutsche Bank Research and the Numbeo website, using crowd-sourced data from numerous cities worldwide.

Cost of Dining in India Compared to Other Countries

India’s average cost for a three-course meal for two people is approximately $14 or Rs 1,200, ranking it at 124th globally. Following India, similar meals in Pakistan and Bangladesh cost around $12.3 or Rs 1,050, showcasing varying dining costs across countries.
