Raksha Bandhan, on the other hand, falls on the second Saturday (Aug. 9), which is already designated as a bank holiday countrywide. Furthermore, Independence Day on Aug. 15 falls on a Friday, resulting in a long weekend that encompasses the Janmashtami holiday.
Total Holidays and Closures
With three Saturdays and seven weekday holidays in August, along with regular Sundays, banks are expected to be closed for a total of 15 days this month.
