Drug Smugglers Arrested in Ferozepur
Three drug smugglers were arrested by the police in Ferozepur. A total of 13kg of heroin and ammunition were seized from the smugglers in a recent operation.
Arrests Made in Madhre Village
Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu reported that acting on a tip-off, the police raided Madhre village near the border. Two alleged drug smugglers, Gurpreet Singh alias Gori and Gurpreet Singh alias Kali, both residents of Gatti Rajo Ke, were apprehended. The police recovered 8.3kg of heroin from them.
Another Operation Results in Arrest
In a separate operation, the police arrested Jograj Singh alias Samar from Ansal village during a routine check near Mohkam Khewala village. The police intercepted him while he was riding a two-wheeler near Ghall Khurd. Upon searching him, they found 4.7kg of heroin along with disassembled parts of a pistol and eight cartridges.
According to SSP Sidhu, initial investigations suggest that the heroin was smuggled from Pakistan. Authorities are working to trace the connections of the accused to determine the smuggling network used to transport the contraband into India and its distribution channels.
