Air India Express Flight Returns to Calicut Airport
An Air India Express flight heading to Doha from Calicut International Airport had to return a couple of hours after take-off on Wednesday. The airport officials mentioned that the flight, numbered IX 375, carrying 188 people, including the crew, departed from Calicut around 9:07 am but landed back at 11:12 am.
Technical Issue in the Aircraft
According to an airport official, the reason for the return was a technical error in the aircraft’s cabin AC system. However, it was not classified as an emergency landing, and all passengers were safely deboarded. The official stated that the problem would be fixed, or an alternate aircraft would be provided for the travelers to continue their journey.
Precautionary Landing
An Air India Express spokesperson described the incident as a precautionary landing due to a technical fault. They assured that a replacement flight would be organized for the passengers by 1:30 pm. In the meantime, necessary arrangements such as food and water were arranged for the travelers at the airport.
