Amit Shah Slams Sonia Gandhi for Tears Over Batla House Encounter

Amit Shah Calls Out Congress for Soft Corner Towards Terrorists

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress, particularly former chief Sonia Gandhi, for showing sympathy towards terrorists involved in the 2008 Batla House encounter in Delhi.

The Batla House Encounter

Back on September 19, 2008, Indian Mujahideen terrorists hiding in a flat at Batla House in Jamia Nagar were confronted by an armed police unit. During the encounter, Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma of the Delhi Police sacrificed his life in the line of duty.

Recounting the incident, Amit Shah expressed his surprise at Sonia Gandhi’s emotional reaction post the encounter. He recalled a moment when he witnessed Congress leader Salman Khurshid in tears on television at Ms. Gandhi’s residence, stating that she was grieving over the Batla House incident.

Mr. Shah emphasized that, instead of mourning the terrorists, respect should have been paid to the brave inspector who lost his life in the battle.

Shah’s Criticism Towards Congress

During a special discussion on Operation Sindoor in the parliament, Amit Shah highlighted the government’s efforts in tackling terrorism. He asserted that the Congress, despite its sympathy for terrorists, has no authority to question the government’s strategies in combating terror threats.

He went on to reveal that three terrorists linked to the Pahalgam attack were neutralized during Operation Mahadev. Shah condemned Congress MP P Chidambaram for allegedly trying to protect Pakistan by questioning the origins of the attackers involved in the Pahalgam incident.

Furthermore, Amit Shah expressed disappointment in the opposition party’s reaction to the elimination of the Pahalgam attackers. He accused the Congress of indirectly supporting Pakistan against India’s fight against terrorism.

Ending his address, the Union Minister spotlighted the importance of prioritizing the nation’s security over political affiliations.
