Bharat Arun Joins Lucknow Super Giants as Bowling Coach for IPL 2026
Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has been brought on board by Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) as their new bowling coach ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sources have confirmed that Arun, who previously worked with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is now part of LSG. The team finished seventh in IPL 2025 and is looking to enhance their bowling attack with Arun’s expertise.
Having captained by India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, LSG aims to boost their performance with the addition of Arun. His successful track record in nurturing fast bowlers makes him a valuable asset to the team.
End of an Era
Arun’s move to LSG signals the end of his tenure with KKR, where he was associated since 2022 and contributed to their IPL 2024 victory. His departure coincides with KKR parting ways with head coach Chandrakant Pandit.
Moreover, uncertainties loom over the continuity of head coach Justin Langer and mentor Zaheer Khan at LSG. Discussions are ongoing regarding their future roles within the franchise.
A Proven Track Record
Arun’s coaching experience extends beyond the franchise cricket, having served twice with the Indian national team. His impactful tenure from 2014 to 2015 and during the T20 World Cup till 2021, has been instrumental in the rise of Indian fast bowlers.
From guiding the U-19 World Cup-winning team in 2012 to coaching domestic teams like Tamil Nadu, Bengal, and Hyderabad, Arun has left an indelible mark on Indian cricket.
His stint as the bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL added more feathers to his coaching cap, showcasing his versatility and expertise in the T20 format.
