Malayalam cinema star Fahadh Faasil is known for leading a quiet life despite his widespread popularity. Despite having numerous fans nationwide, the Aavesham star is notably absent from social media and does not even own a smartphone.
Fahadh Faasil’s Recent Appearance
On Wednesday (July 16), Fahadh Faasil attended a puja ceremony for his upcoming film Mollywood Times. A video from the event went viral on social media, revealing the 42-year-old actor using a traditional keypad phone.
The phone he was using, although simple in appearance, is far from ordinary. According to reports by Hindustan Times, Fahadh Faasil was seen with an Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone, manufactured by the UK-based luxury mobile phone company Vertu. This model comes with a hefty price tag of USD 11,920 (approximately Rs 10 lakh).
Details of the Vertu Phone
Vertu’s official website states that the model used by Fahadh Faasil is no longer in production and was launched in 2008. Despite its retro design, the phone boasts premium features, including a titanium build, sapphire crystals, and hand-stitched leather. It also offers modern functionalities such as Bluetooth, GPRS, and SMS and MMS support. Additionally, the phone features a dedicated side button for 24/7 concierge access in over 170 countries.
Weighing around 173 grams and approximately 22 mm thick, this handset showcases a patented bevelled stainless-steel keypad, adding to its unique appeal.
Fahadh Faasil’s Lifestyle Choice
Last month, actor Vinay Forrt mentioned Fahadh Faasil’s preference for a basic keypad phone and avoidance of smartphones and social media. This choice aligns with Fahadh Faasil’s previous statements regarding his decision not to engage in social media for film promotions, opting for personal interactions instead.
In an interview with Pinkvilla in 2023, Fahadh Faasil expressed his stance on social media, highlighting his preference for personal connections over virtual platforms.
On the movie front, Fahadh Faasil has several projects in the pipeline, including Maareesan, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Karate Chandran, and Patriot.
