Golden Temple Faces Bomb Threat in Amritsar
The Golden Temple in Punjab’s Amritsar received a bomb threat on Monday, as reported by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). The Punjab police are on high alert following the threat.
Police Response and Investigation
Amritsar Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed that a complaint was received regarding an email threatening a blast at the Golden Temple. He stated, “We received a complaint from the SGPC authorities about the email threatening a blast in the Golden Temple. We are collaborating with the state cybercrime and other agencies to address the situation.”
The police have registered an FIR in the matter and initiated an investigation. Bomb disposal squads, SGPC force, and additional security personnel have been deployed around the temple premises to ensure safety. The authorities have assured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken.
Public Safety Measures
Commissioner Bhullar emphasized the importance of remaining calm and reporting any suspicious activity promptly. He assured the public that the police are working diligently to resolve the case and maintain security.
