Rajasthan MP’s Comical Comparison
During a lively debate in Parliament, Rajasthan MP Hanuman Beniwal brought a touch of humor to the serious discussions. His speech late at night sparked laughter from members on both sides of the aisle.
Operation Sindoor Analogy
Beniwal, the leader of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party from Nagaur constituency, made an amusing analogy during his speech. He likened Pakistan to India’s newly-wedded wife post Operation Sindoor, suggesting that the Centre should “bring her home.”
He remarked, “You called the operation ‘sindoor’, and it appeared that India was putting sindoor on Pakistan’s hair. According to Hindu tradition, a woman considers her husband her ‘sindoor’.”
“India put sindoor on Pakistan, so Pakistan has become its wife. Only vidai (bride’s farewell) is left,” he quipped, eliciting laughter from his fellow MPs.
A Light-hearted Exchange
When prompted to conclude his speech, Beniwal humorously questioned, “You spoke for half an hour and you are asking me to go?”
As his allotted time came to an end, a buzzer sounded, signaling the conclusion of his speech. Beniwal, unfazed, asked, “Kya ho gaya? (What is it?)”
Intervening in his speech, Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad requested more time for Beniwal to speak.
Demands and Humor
Beniwal raised serious questions during his speech, demanding answers from the Centre regarding the recent Pahalgam terror attack. He inquired about the entry of terrorists into India and the circumstances of the attack, emphasizing the country’s right to know.
Expressing concern that his late-night speech might go unnoticed, Beniwal lamented that his words might not make it to the newspapers but would need to rely on social media for coverage.
With his unique blend of humor and serious inquiry, MP Hanuman Beniwal’s speech added a refreshing touch to the parliamentary debate.
