Himachal Pradesh Government Prioritizing Environmental Protection

The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has emphasized the need to promote e-vehicles and green hydrogen in the state. He mentioned that these initiatives would not only create employment opportunities for the youth but also ensure a steady income for a significant period.

Policies for Environmental Conservation

Chief Minister Sukhu stated that the Himachal Pradesh government is actively formulating policies with a focus on environmental protection. Promoting e-vehicles and green hydrogen has become crucial in the current scenario, considering the adverse effects of climate change.

Initiatives Underway

As part of the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Start-up Yojana, the state government has launched 20 e-taxis from the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat. The government is providing a 50% subsidy to youth for purchasing e-taxis, aiming to support sustainable transportation.

So far, around Rs 4.22 crore have been disbursed to 59 eligible youth, and 61 more beneficiaries are set to receive the subsidy soon. This initiative not only enhances employment prospects but also eases the financial burden on the state.

Focus on Quality Education

Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the positive outcomes of radical reforms in various government departments. Himachal Pradesh has significantly improved its ranking in providing quality education, moving up from 21st to 5th place nationwide.

These efforts align with the state’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation. The emphasis on e-vehicles and green hydrogen reflects the government’s dedication to building a greener and eco-friendly future for Himachal Pradesh.

By promoting renewable energy sources and sustainable transportation options, the state aims to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner environment for future generations.
