IndiGo’s Revenue and Capacity Report

IndiGo, a leading airline in India, faced a 5% decrease in its yield, earning Rs 4.98 per kilometre from passengers in the quarter. The load factor, representing passenger capacity, dropped to 84.6%.

The company currently owns a fleet of 416 aircraft as of June 30. At its peak, IndiGo operated 2,269 daily flights, including non-scheduled ones.

Capacity Growth Expectations

IndiGo anticipates a mid to high single-digit increase in capacity for the first quarter of this fiscal year. This measure is based on available seat kilometres compared to the previous year.

CEO Statement

CEO Pieter Elbers acknowledged the external challenges that affected the aviation sector during the June quarter. Despite the revenue moderation, the demand for air travel remained robust with over 31 million passengers served, marking a 12% year-over-year growth.

Share Market Performance

Prior to the quarterly results announcement, shares of IndiGo’s parent company saw a decrease of 0.67% to Rs 5,717.50 on the NSE. This was in contrast to the 0.14% gain in the benchmark Nifty.
