JSW MG Motor India Increases Prices of Comet EV
JSW MG Motor India has raised the prices of the Comet EV for the second time in the Indian market. The prices of the electric vehicle have seen an increase of up to Rs 15,000, depending on the variant. This follows a previous price hike that was implemented in May 2025.
Impact on Battery Rental and Subscription Fee
Along with the rise in ex-showroom prices, MG has also raised the BaaS subscription fee from Rs 2.90 per km to Rs 3.10 per km. This seemingly small increment of Rs 0.20 per km could add up significantly for frequent users over time, directly affecting the operating cost of the electric vehicle.
Features and Specifications
Despite the price increase, there have been no additions or changes to the features of the Comet EV. The vehicle still boasts dual 10.25-inch displays, with one serving as an instrument cluster and the other as an infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional features include a 4-speaker audio system, manual AC, electrically foldable ORVMs, power windows, and keyless entry with push-button start.
Safety and Performance
For passenger safety, the MG Comet EV includes features like dual front airbags, Electronic stability control (ESC), four-wheel disc brakes, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, reverse parking sensors and camera, and electronic parking brake.
Battery and Charging
The MG Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 230 km on a single charge. The battery powers an electric motor producing 42 hp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque. Charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes 5.5 hours using 3.3kW, while reaching full charge requires 7 hours.
