Disturbing Call Leads to Teen’s Disappearance

The mother of a missing Milwaukee teen has revealed that she got a disturbing phone call before her daughter went missing. 13-year-old Jamyla Norwood mysteriously disappeared, and has been described by police as a critically missing person, which means she is believed to be in danger.

Threatening Call and Disappearance

Norwood has not spoken with her family since Monday, July 28, around 3:26 p.m. local time, authorities said. According to reports, Norwood’s mother was talking to her on the phone when she overheard a woman threatening to harm Jamyla. The call abruptly ended, and no one has heard from Jamyla since. Later, Norwood’s mother received distressing messages claiming her daughter’s demise, although the sender remains unknown.

Search Operation Launched

The Milwaukee Police Department issued a Missing Endangered Person Alert earlier this week in hopes of locating Norwood. The teenager was last believed to be in the vicinity of N. 24th St. and W. Burleigh St. in Milwaukee. Her concerned mother fears for her safety.

Norwood, a Black individual, is 5’3″ tall and approximately 120 pounds. Any information on her whereabouts should be promptly reported to the Milwaukee Police Department District 5 at 414-935-7252.
