MLA Kulbir Kaur Kang Resigns from Punjab Assembly
MLA Kulbir Kaur Kang has submitted her resignation to Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.
Expressing her decision, Maan stated in Punjabi on social media, “My heart is heavy, but I have decided to leave politics. My resignation from the post of MLA to the Speaker should be accepted.”
She also conveyed her best wishes to the party, expressing hope that the Punjab government would meet the people’s expectations.
Maan, who was elected from Kharar in the 2022 Punjab assembly elections, had served briefly as a minister in the Bhagwant Mann-led cabinet. She held significant portfolios including tourism and culture, investment promotion, labour, and hospitality before being replaced in a cabinet reshuffle.
Prior to her political career, Maan was renowned as a Punjabi singer, known for popular songs like “Suit,” “Ghaint Purpose,” and “Sherni.”
