In an exclusive chat with HT, the duo shared their journey of how two individuals from Kashmir, without any industry connections, landed the opportunity to compose the title track for a prestigious production like Yash Raj Films.
The Inspiring Journey of Faheem and Arslan
Arslan Nizami, who worked as a civil engineer near Leh, pursued his passion for songwriting and composing alongside his professional commitments. Teaming up with Faheem, previously known as The Imaginary Poet, the duo created music that garnered popularity within Kashmir but remained undiscovered elsewhere.
Feeling the urge to showcase their talent on a larger platform, Arslan took a bold step by resigning from his job, urging Faheem to join him in pursuing their musical dreams. Despite facing initial resistance from their families, they embarked on a journey to Mumbai to explore opportunities in the mainstream music industry.
With limited resources but unwavering determination, Faheem and Arslan set foot in Mumbai, giving themselves a 14-day window to make an impression. Serendipitously, on the 13th day, they crossed paths with Tanishk Bagchi, who recognized their potential and invited them to compose the title track of Saiyaara.

Reflecting on their unexpected journey to success, Faheem expressed gratitude for the opportunity to create music for a film, a feat they had never imagined accomplishing. The duo now aspires to open doors for more talented musicians from Kashmir to enter the mainstream music scene.
