Ola and Uber Drivers’ Strike in Maharashtra
The strike by Ola and Uber drivers in Maharashtra may resume on Wednesday, as sources informed NDTV Profit. The strike was temporarily halted on Saturday in anticipation of discussions with the government.
According to sources, the strike is set to remain on hold until Wednesday noon.
The protesting gig workers have put forth several demands, including a rate of Rs 32 per kilometer for cab drivers working with aggregator services, a complete prohibition on bike cabs, and the implementation of the Gig Workers Act.
“An intensified protest is being planned for Wednesday,” added the individuals, noting that this action will take place if their demands remain unmet.
