“I took her to the hospital out of compassion,” Rajesh recounts, the disbelief evident in his voice. “But within hours, I was detained by the police, interrogated, and accused of murder. I was deprived of legal representation, kept in custody for days, and then thrust into jail without a fair trial,” he recalls.
Struggles and Injustice
Left homeless and abandoned, Rajesh faced the daunting prospect of paying overdue rent and finding work tainted by his unjust incarceration. His vociferous claims of innocence fell on deaf ears, as societal stigma and destitution shadowed his every step.
His sister, Kamlesh, recounts the harrowing ordeal of seeking justice for her wronged brother amidst bureaucratic apathy and financial strain. The system that should have protected Rajesh failed him miserably.
