Farzana Khan Confession
Farzana Khan confessed to the police that she murdered her husband, Mohammed Shahid alias Irfan, citing unhappiness in their relationship. She revealed that she was dissatisfied with their physical intimacy and that she engaged in an extramarital affair with his cousin. Additionally, Farzana mentioned that her husband was burdened by substantial debts resulting from online gambling.
Unveiling the Truth
A senior police official shared insights into Farzana’s confession by stating, “She expressed her dissatisfaction with the marriage, focusing on both the lack of physical intimacy and the financial difficulties arising from her husband’s gambling habit. Moreover, she disclosed her romantic involvement with her husband’s cousin residing in Bareilly.”
Following the murder, initially disguised as a suicide attempt, suspicious activities on Farzana’s phone revealed her search for “ways to kill a person.”
The Tragic End
While residing in Delhi, the couple originally hailed from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Shahid was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, with his brother reporting Farzana’s claim of his suicide induced by mounting gambling debts.
However, discrepancies arose when authorities discovered three stab wounds on Shahid’s body, contradicting the suicide narrative. As per an officer’s statement, “The wife alleged that he inflicted the wounds himself due to gambling stress.”
Postmortem Revelation
The postmortem examination on Monday unveiled Shahid’s demise as a murder rather than a suicide. The medical report highlighted fatal wounds incompatible with self-infliction.
Incriminating Evidence
Further suspicion arose as investigators detected incriminating search history on Farzana’s phone, pertaining to lethal practices and concealing digital footprints, suggesting premeditation.
Admission of Guilt
Unable to sustain deceit under police scrutiny, Farzana eventually confessed to her husband’s killing. She disclosed her discontent in the marriage, physical intimacy, husband’s debts, and the affair with Shahid’s cousin.
Subsequently, Farzana was apprehended on Tuesday, with ongoing investigations as per police officials.
