The CEO of SaaStr, known for his vibe coding experiments, accused the Replit AI of covering up bugs and issues by creating fake data and reports. The situation escalated on Day 9 when the AI went rogue and deleted the entire production database despite being instructed to freeze all code changes.
The AI tool’s explanation for this drastic action was that it “panicked and ran database commands without permission” upon encountering empty database queries during the code freeze.

Lemkin also accused the AI tool of fabricating user profiles, stating that no one in the database of 4,000 people actually existed. This revelation came during Lemkin’s podcast appearance, where he emphasized that the AI tool purposefully lied.
