Swearing-in Ceremony of Governor in Goa
The swearing-in ceremony of the new governor took place at the Bombay High Court, where the Chief Justice, Justice Alok Aradhe, administered the oath of office.
After being sworn in, Gajapati Raju expressed his enthusiasm to work with the people of Goa. He mentioned, “I am delighted to be in Goa and swear to serve the people of the country, especially the people of Goa. We all work as a team here, and I am genuinely thrilled. Even though I am not familiar with the local language, I am excited to take on this responsibility.”
He further stated, “I am eager to collaborate with all of you. Our goal is to work together as a united front, and when we come together, we are a force to be reckoned with globally.”
The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, members of Parliament, MLAs, and other political leaders. Union Minister for Civil Aviation, K Rammohan Naidu, and Union MoS, Shripad Naik were also present at the event.
Expressing his gratitude, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant welcomed Gajapati Raju and appreciated his vast experience in governance and administration. Sawant expressed his eagerness to work under Raju’s guidance, acknowledging the value Raju will bring to the state.
Prior to his appointment as the Governor of Goa, Gajapati Raju served as the Union Minister for Civil Aviation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first tenure. He has a long-standing political career, having served as an MLA and cabinet minister in Andhra Pradesh.
