Police in Pune arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly killing her husband and burying the body under the floor tiles at their home in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.

Gruesome Murder Uncovered

The victim, Vijay Chavan (34), a resident of Gangnipada in Nallasopara, was found buried under the tiles at his home having been missing for weeks.

An FIR was filed against the two culprits under various sections including murder and destruction of evidence. The suspects, Chaman Devi (28) and Monu Sharma (20), were apprehended in Hadapsar, Pune, and are being taken to Palghar.

Authorities confirmed the arrest of Chaman Devi and Sharma, but the motive behind the murder remains unclear.

Mysterious Circumstances

Initial investigations suggest that Chavan’s wife, with the help of her lover, plotted the crime and subsequently disappeared.

The discovery of the body was made by Chavan’s brothers who noticed his absence and a strange odor emanating from the newly tiled floor at the house.

Upon further inspection, the police, along with forensic experts, excavated the body in the presence of medical professionals and local authorities.

Neighbors revealed that Chavan had been missing since July 10, and his wife had disappeared a few days later, intensifying suspicions of foul play.

The case remains under investigation as police piece together the events leading to the tragic demise of Vijay Chavan.
