Youths Beat Maulana Rashidi Over Alleged Comment
Recently, a video showcasing a group of youths beating Maulana Rashidi went viral on social media. The incident occurred after Rashidi reportedly made a derogatory comment against Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav.
The Incident
Rashidi had visited a mosque, and in response, the youths took matters into their own hands. On a Tuesday, during a news channel’s debate programme in Noida, Rashidi was confronted and physically assaulted by the youths.
Kuldeep Bhati, who identified himself as the state secretary of Yuvjan Sabha, Samajwadi Party, shared a video on social media platform ‘X’, claiming that Rashidi had been “treated” for his actions. Bhati emphasized that anyone who speaks ill of Indian women would face similar consequences.
Legal Action
Following the incident, Maulana Rashidi filed a police complaint against three individuals – Kuldeep Bhati, Mohit Nagar, and Shyam Singh. The Sector 126 police station is currently investigating the matter.
Fakhrul Hasan Chand, spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party, acknowledged that the accused individuals are affiliated with the party. However, he clarified that the party does not condone any form of violence. When questioned about potential repercussions for the perpetrators, Chand stated that the law would take its course.
