EaseMyTrip Stands Ground Against India vs Pakistan Semi-Final

EaseMyTrip co-founder Nishant Pitti has announced that the company will not be associated with the India vs Pakistan semi-final match in the World Championship of Legends (WCL). This decision follows the cancellation of the group stage match between the two teams after Indian players decided to boycott the clash.

Amid the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, uncertainty looms over whether the semi-final match will take place. Despite this, Pitti firmly stated that EaseMyTrip, one of the sponsors, will not participate in the match. The reason behind this decision is the belief that “terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand.”

Pitti’s Stand

In a social media post, Pitti expressed his support for Team India in the World Championship of Legends and acknowledged their outstanding performance. However, he emphasized that the upcoming semi-final against Pakistan holds greater significance, stating that “terror and cricket cannot coexist.” Pitti reiterated that EaseMyTrip stands with India and cannot endorse any event that seeks to normalize relations with a country promoting terrorism.

He further added, “Some things are bigger than sport. Nation first, business later. Always.”

Opposition to India-Pakistan Match

Former cricketer Manoj Tiwary also voiced his opposition to the scheduled India-Pakistan match during the 2025 Asia Cup. Following the announcement by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 would take place in the UAE, with the India-Pakistan match scheduled for September 14, Tiwary expressed his disapproval.

Referring to recent terrorist incidents, Tiwary stated, “I am against it. The India-Pakistan match should not be held, especially after the tragic events in Pahalgam. After that, Operation Sindoor has taken place.”

The Asia Cup 2025 features teams like India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong, divided into groups A and B.
