Over 100 Air India Pilots Take Sick Leave

Recently, more than 100 Air India pilots decided to go on ‘sick leave’ just four days after a tragic incident involving a Boeing 787-Dreamliner. The aircraft crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad airport, experiencing a loss of thrust mid-air before nosediving into a college hostel building. This devastating crash resulted in the loss of 274 lives, as confirmed by Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu during a statement on Thursday.

Pilots’ Leave Requests

According to Mr Naidu, a total of 61 senior pilots and 51 flight officers submitted their leave requests on June 16. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging and addressing the mental well-being of the pilots, especially in the aftermath of such a horrific event.
