Tragic Incident in the Film Industry

Akshay Kumar discussed the tragic death of veteran stuntman S Mohanraj, who lost his life while filming a high-risk car stunt for a movie. This incident reminded Akshay of a similar stunt gone wrong during the shooting of “Jaanwar.”

Recalling the past, Akshay remembered a young stuntman who had given him a thumbs up before attempting a dangerous stunt. Unfortunately, the stunt resulted in a fatal accident, leaving Akshay deeply affected.

Supporting Stuntmen Through Insurance

During the earlier days, stuntmen in the industry did not have insurance coverage despite the risks involved in their work. Inspired by this realization, Akshay Kumar, along with heart specialist Dr. Panda, initiated an insurance scheme for stuntmen in 2017.

For over six years, Akshay has been silently supporting this noble cause, emphasizing his dedication to the welfare of stunt performers.

Akshay humbly stated, “I’m a stuntman first and an actor next,” showcasing his genuine concern for the well-being of those in the industry.
