Exhumation Process Underway in Dharmasthala
As reported by The New Indian Express, the first round of digging has commenced at a location near the Nethravathi bathing ghat in Dharmasthala. This location is among the 13 flagged sites brought to light by the witness-complainant involved in the case.
Presence of Officials and Experts
An official team, including the International Security Division SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama and investigating officer, oversaw the excavation. Puttur Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese and Belthangady Tahsildar Pruthvi Sanikam were also present. Experts from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) and Scene-of-Crime Officers (SOCO) were on-site to ensure procedural and scientific integrity.

The entire exhumation process is being recorded by SIT personnel for official documentation purposes, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Prior to the excavation, a briefing session was conducted at the SIT office in Belthangady, led by DIG M N Anucheth. Officials are set to validate the claims made by the witness through forensic evidence obtained from the sites.
