India-UK Trade Agreement and Norton Motorcycles Showcase

India and the United Kingdom recently signed a significant Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK counterpart Keir Starmer. Following the formalization of the trade agreement, PM Modi and his UK counterpart visited the Norton Motorcycles showcase to examine the brand’s motorcycles. Dignitaries from both countries and Sudarshan Venu, MD of TVS Motor Company, also attended the event.

Event Highlights

Several pictures from the event, featuring PM Narendra Modi and British PM Keir Starmer posing with the motorcycles, were shared on social media. In some images, PM Modi can be seen interacting with Sudarshan Venu, the CEO of the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, while other dignitaries are also visible in different pictures.

Norton Motorcycles and TVS Partnership

Norton Motorcycles, a British brand acquired by TVS Motor Company in 2020, is gearing up to launch its motorcycles in India by the end of 2025. The brand has already begun testing its upcoming models, with recent spy shots showing TVS MD Sudarshan Venu testing one of the Norton bikes.

Future Plans and Models

It is likely that Norton motorcycles will be imported to India as completely built units (CBU) and may benefit from the new trade agreement between India and the UK. The showcased motorcycles, Norton V4 CR and V4 SV, are a cafe racer and a supersport respectively, featuring special carbon fiber bodywork and chrome highlights.

Both models are equipped with a powerful 1200 cc V4 engine, capable of producing 185 hp of power at 12,500 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at around 9,000 rpm.
