Nithya Menen recently shared details about her latest Tamil movie, Thalaivan Thalaivii, which hit the screens on July 25. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi alongside her. Interestingly, Sethupathi played the role of a cook in the movie, and it seems he took his role quite seriously!
Cooking Adventures on Set
In a recent interview with NDTV, Nithya Menen revealed, “There was a stone kept hot on the set for a particular scene. Real cooking took place there. Vijay had to master the art of making parottas, and he would even cook meals for the entire crew. His love for experimenting with food knew no bounds.”
The bond between the co-stars extended off-screen as well. Nithya shared, “There were times when I mentioned being hungry, and Vijay would instantly offer to make me an omelette. He would swiftly head to the hot stone and prepare one for me.”
Emotional Connection to the Film Set
Beyond the script, the film’s set, designed around a temple, became a place of emotional significance for everyone involved.
Nithya expressed, “The set became an integral part of our filming journey. When we finished shooting, many of us felt incomplete without the set. I revisited the temple later, and it was disheartening to see the set dismantled. We grew attached to it.”
Thalaivan Thalaivii isn’t merely a narrative about a cook and his wife; it signifies a narrative of unity, culinary delights, and companionship behind the scenes.
