Tragedy Strikes at Sharda University
The family of a 20-year-old BDS student at Sharda University has alleged that faculty members falsely accused her of forgery, leading to a series of events that culminated tragically in her suicide.
Incident Details
The unfortunate incident took place on July 18 when the young student was found dead in her hostel room by hanging, prompting immediate police action. Greater Noida ADCP Sudhir Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that the police swiftly conducted a postmortem after receiving the information.
The victim’s brother revealed that the trouble began a week prior when a professor accused his sister of forging signatures on assignments and lab work. Despite attempts by the family to resolve the issue, things escalated quickly.
Families’ Allegations
The victim’s mother, Sunita, staged a protest on the university campus demanding justice for her daughter. She accused authorities of using force on students and family members, creating a tense atmosphere.
Police Action and Protest
The family’s complaints led to the registration of an FIR against five individuals, with two taken into custody for questioning. As news of the suicide spread, students and family members protested outside the university gates, alleging institutional harassment.
The situation eventually calmed down after a meeting was facilitated between the family and the university administration. Police assured that further investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
