Close Call for Woman in Bengaluru
A woman in Bengaluru had a narrow escape when a truck ran over her scooter on Saturday. The incident, caught on CCTV, shows the frightening moment as the truck’s massive wheels came inches from her legs before the driver reversed just in time.
At around 8:30 am, the woman found herself in a dangerous situation at Srinivaspura Cross. Traffic had stopped at the crossing, with the woman waiting to turn left while a truck on her right also aimed to make the same turn.
The CCTV footage illustrates the heart-stopping moment as the woman paused near the back wheels of the truck and then hurried forward. With a bus obstructing traffic on their side finally moving, the truck advanced while the woman stood still.
Tragedy struck as the front wheels of the truck collided with her scooter, throwing her to the ground. Subsequently, the rear wheels proceeded to crush the scooter, bringing them dangerously close to running over the woman before the driver noticed the mishap and swiftly reversed.
Quick-thinking passersby then helped move the woman to safety off the road.
Officials have reported that the woman sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital. The lorry involved has been impounded, and legal action has been initiated against the driver.
