Youths Face Police Action for Dangerous Stunts

A group of youngsters found themselves in trouble after a video of them performing risky stunts in a Thar SUV at the bustling Phase 3B2 market went viral. The Mataur police quickly took action by seizing the vehicle and imposing a hefty fine of ₹35,000 on the offenders.

Video Goes Viral, Prompts Police Intervention

The video, which rapidly spread on social media platforms, captured the youths blaring loud music, standing on the moving SUV, and yelling at onlookers late at night, causing disturbance and alarm in the public.

SHO Amandeep Singh Kamboj from the Mataur police station stated, “The video unequivocally demonstrates reckless behavior and disruption to public peace. The Thar SUV was located, and the individual behind the wheel was summoned to the police station. Subsequently, the vehicle was impounded, and a fine of ₹35,000 was imposed.” The driver, a resident of Kharar, failed to furnish valid documents for the Chandigarh-registered vehicle.

Police Warn Against Hooliganism in Public Spaces

SHO Kamboj emphasized, “This market is frequented by families and visitors from nearby regions. Our primary concern is to uphold a secure and tranquil atmosphere. Any acts of hooliganism in public places will be met with strict repercussions.”

The authorities have also reiterated their call for the public to avoid using public areas for dangerous stunts or filming social media content, highlighting the serious legal penalties that such actions may entail.
